Tips & Warnings
By default, the Ad-Aware program will run continuously on the users computer after installation. The Ad-Aware program has several editions ranging from the fee-based business, pro and plus editions as well as the common free edition. The primary differences between the free and the fee-based editions are the inclusion of an antivirus option with the fee-based editions. Both editions update definitions automatically; however the free edition must run constantly on the user's computer to update even though there is not an antivirus program constantly monitoring the system as with the fee-based versions. As a result of background programs slowing computer performance, many users chose to disable this function on the free edition and update the software manually.
