How to Build a New Yu-Gi-Oh! Skill Drain Deck

Yu-Gi-Oh! offers a variety of monsters, spells and traps designed to change the rules of the game or alter other cards in play. One of the most powerful game-altering cards is Skill Drain, which allows you to effectively remove the effect text from all monsters on the field. Players using Skill Drain as a primary component of their decks can remove harmful effects from their creations while disrupting the beneficial effects of their opponents’ monsters.

Instructions

    • 1

Begin with three Skill Drain cards. These form the backbone of your deck and will allow you to use most of your additional cards.

    • 2

Select your attacking monsters. Skill Drain can remove the effects of non-tribute summoning from Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast and Beast King Barbaros as well as the limitations of Zombyra the Dark and Beast Machine King Barbaros Ür. These heavy hitters will be your primary attackers.

    • 3

Add your support cards. Support cards increase the abilities of your monsters and work well in conjunction with Skill Drain. Forbidden Chalice, Dark-Imprisoning Mirror and Light-Imprisoning Mirror can either increase your powers or shut down opponent’s graveyard effects.

    • 4

Round out your deck with your own selection of monsters, traps and spells. The tweaks you make to your deck will differentiate it from every other, allowing you to better combat those who are expecting Skill Drain.

Tips & Warnings

  • A new Yu-Gi-Oh! Skill Drain deck can be merged into any existing deck that does not rely on monster effects or can stand alone with the addition of your favored cards.
