How to Convert Large Poster Pics to a Smaller Size

Files for poster-sized pictures are generally too large to upload. However, you can use a free online image-resizing website to reduce a poster-sized image so is small enough to upload to a website or device.

Instructions

1. Go to a free image-resizing website such as reszr.com, shrinkpictures.com or resize.com (see Resources). These websites enable you to resize large images without downloading a third-party application.

2. Click the "Choose File" button. Locate your poster image from the folder where it is saved on your computer. Click "Open" to import it to the image-resizing website.

3. Select the size for your reduced image. For example, you can reduce your image by 75, 50 or 25 percent. If you prefer, select the width and height you want to use in the "Custom Size" box. When you finish, click the "Resize" button. When the image is resized, click "Download." When prompted, click "Save" to launch the file-saving dialog box.

4. Type a name for the resized image and select the folder to save it in. Click "Save" to download the resized image to your computer.
