How to Remove Cell Phone Numbers From a Directory

Calls from telemarketers can be very frustrating. They often will not take no for an answer and they phone at the most inconvenient times. Now with new cell phone directories becoming popular, companies are starting to make telemarketing calls to your cell. One way to stop receiving these calls is to remove your cell phone number from any directory.

Instructions

      Log onto a cell phone directory website such as "118 800" (see link in Resource section).

      Select the option for Ex-directory, and search the next page for a submission form.

      Enter your cell phone number into the field box. You will be asked to enter a verification code.

      Click "Submit." A pop-up window will appear requesting you to enter a code. Check your cell phone for a text, and enter the code received into the pop-up window. Click "Submit" and your number will be removed from the directory.

      Log onto other online mobile directories such as Mobdir, Phone Directory Search (see links in the Resource section) or White Pages. These websites require you to create an account with them, then you can click on the "Customer Support" button, on your account page. Select "Contact Us" or a similar link, then send them a message requesting the removal of your number.
