How to Make Ringtones on Verizon Voyager

How to Make Ringtones on Verizon Voyager thumbnail
You can make ringtones on a Verizon Voyager by using the phone's "record" function.

The Verizon Voyager is a cell phone that is manufactured by the LG Corp. for the Verizon Wireless network. If you like to make your own ringtones for your cell phone, the process to do so for the Verizon Voyager is a bit different from other phones because Verizon blocks you from adding ringtones to its cell phones via traditional methods. However, you can bypass this rule with the appropriate process.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your computer's media player. Locate the song from which you want to make a ringtone. Pause the song at the section where you would like to start recording. Turn your computer's speakers on and up to a clearly audible level.

    • 2

Tap "Menu" on the Voyager's touchscreen. Tap "Media Center." Tap "Music & Tones." Tap "My Sounds." Tap "Record New."

    • 3

Position your Verizon Voyager close to your computer's speakers. Press "Record" on the Voyager, and then press "Play" on your media player instantly afterward.

    • 4

Record the section of the song you want to use as your ringtone. Press "Stop" on your Voyager, and then press "Stop" on your media player if you wish.

    • 5

Tap "Save" on your Voyager. Name your ringtone, but note that the ringtone is not saved on your Verizon Voyager as a ringtone yet. It is saved as a sound. To save it as ringtone, tap "Options" and then "Send." A picture text message template appears. Input your 10-digit Verizon cell phone number into the "To" field. Send the picture text message to yourself.

    • 6

Tap "View" on the picture text message when you receive it. Click "Options" and then "Save as Ringtone" to save your recording on your Verizon Voyager as a ringtone. You can now locate it in your ringtones folder.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep your ringtone between 10 and 30 seconds because your Voyager's rings will not last longer than that.

  • Picture text messaging fees might be charged to your Verizon account, depending upon your calling and/or data plan.
