Use a multi-switch to connect multiple Conaxsat receivers.

Conaxsat receivers connect to a satellite dish with coaxial cable to process free-to-air (FTA) television programming for an attached TV. FTA refers to programming that does not require a paid subscription to view. Owners may want to connect additional Conaxsat receivers for viewing programs in different rooms. The setup requires a dual LNB (dual noise block converter) satellite and a multi-switch, which routes the satellite signals to the different receivers.

Things You'll Need

  • Multi-switch
  • Coaxial cables with threaded couplers on each end
  • Composite cables
  • TV sets

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the ends of the two coaxial cables from the satellite junction box inside the building to the 'A" and "B" jacks on the multi-switch. Turn the threaded coupler on the end of each cable clockwise around the jack.

    • 2

Connect a coaxial cable to each jack on the opposite side of the multi-switch for as many Conaxsat receivers as desired, depending on the available number of jacks. The jacks will typically be labeled in numeric sequence, such as RX1, RX2, RX3 and RX4.

    • 3

Hook up the other end of each cable to a Conaxsat receiver using the "COAX IN" jack on the back of the component.

    • 4

Insert the yellow, white and red plugs on one end of a composite cable set into the "AV OUT" jacks on the Conaxsat receiver, then connect the other ends to the color-coded jacks on the back of the TV.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the remote control that comes with each Conaxsat receiver to operate that particular receiver in a room.

  • Connect all coaxial cables in the system before plugging any of the receivers into an electrical source.
