How to Attach a Dryer Exhaust Hose
The dryer exhaust hose vents hot air from the dryer and out the exterior dryer vent. The dryer hose kit will come with two large hose clamps that hold each end of the hose in place. Periodic cleaning of the hose will keep the air flowing freely and the dryer operating at optimal performance. The dryer hose itself will be a flexible and adjustable foil hose, or a heat resistant rubber hose. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Pull the dryer out so you have room to access the rear of the dryer. Unplug the dryer from the wall.
-
2
Locate the dryer vent exhaust on the rear of the dryer. This is typically located in the bottom left or right corners. Slide one end of the hose over the dryer vent exhaust and position one of the hose clamps around the hose and over the vent. Insert the slotted end of the clamp into the screw end and use the screwdriver to tighten the clamp together and secure the hose in place.

3
Repeat step two to attach the remaining end of the hose to the exterior vent connector.
-
4
Push the dryer back into it's operating location, taking care not to kink the vent hose, and plug the dryer back into the outlet. Turn the dryer on and check the hose for hot air leaks.

Tips & Warnings
It is helpful for hose connection runs longer than 5 feet to use a rigid metal pipe, which would connect in the same matter to the vents as the standard flexible hose.
Do not overtighten the hose clamps as they can crush the thin aluminum vents, which would restrict the air flow and hinder the operation of the dryer.
If you use a rubber style hose for the dryer exhaust hose, be sure it is designed for dryers and rated to withstand the dryer's heat.
Be sure to keep your vent clean of dust and lint. Dirty vents can be a fire hazard.
