How to Use Google Maps to Reformat Address
Formatting an address, especially when it is an international address, can be difficult if you do not know in which order the street numbers, city codes or country codes should be. But instead of guessing at the result or trying to format the address yourself, use Google Maps to help you reformat the address. Although Google Maps is not 100 percent accurate with addresses, it can give you a good idea of which format to use for cities and countries.

1
Go to www.google.com/maps and type the name of the business or individual along with the city and country into the search box. If you have some type of complete address handy (something with a street number or ZIP code) you can paste this into the field and potentially increase the accuracy of Google's search results.

2
Look at the search results Google displays in the left-hand side of the window. Depending on the name you typed in, there could be several results in different vicinities. For example, if you were searching for a hotel in an international chain, you might have to choose from five hotels with the same name located in the same city.

Click on the link of the result that fits your query. On the right-hand side of the page in the map area, the full business name, street number, city, state, ZIP code and country will appear in the correct order in a pop-up dialog box. Sometimes the link will open the result in a separate page, where you can read more details about the business.

Copy the correct format of the address for future use. In most cases, you can copy and paste the text into a different application on your computer if necessary.
