Copy a web page to Word.

You can copy text, links and images from a web page and place them in Word. You may paste your contents with or without formatting and then modify your page. When you paste contents from a web page in hypertext markup language (HTML) format, the contents don't appear exactly the same way they do in a web browser. You should paste your page in HTML format if you want to keep links and images from the web page.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the web page you want to copy in a web browser.

    • 2

Use your mouse to highlight the areas of the web page. Copy the information by selecting "Edit" and "Copy" (or use the shortcut keys "Ctrl" and "C").

    • 3

Close or minimize the browser, then open a new or existing document in Microsoft Word.

    • 4

Place your cursor where the web page contents will go, then click on "Edit" and "Paste Special."

    • 5

Choose "Unformatted Text" to paste the text from the web page (without any formatting) or "HTML Format" to insert the contents with links and formatting and click "OK."
