Many MP3 players come with a USB cord that is to be used with the portable media player. This cord gives you the ability to charge the MP3 player using a variety of devices, such as a computer or battery charger that contains a USB port. The cord that comes with the MP3 player is also necessary if you wish to sync the MP3 player with a computer and then add files to the MP3 player.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in (and turn on if necessary) the device that has the USB port you are going to use with the USB cord for the MP3 player.

    • 2

Connect the included USB cord to the MP3 player. For most MP3 players, the cord connects to the MP3 player via the headphone jack that is located on the player. Some MP3 players may have a special port made specifically for the cord (as found on iPods). In these cases, connect the cord to the player via the MP3 cord port on the device.

    • 3

Plug the USB plug on the cord into the USB port on the device you wish to plug the MP3 player into (for example, a computer, charger or FM transmitter). The MP3 player will begin charging and will also sync to the device that you plugged the player into (such as your computer).

Tips & Warnings

  • If your computer is turned off or goes into "Sleep" mode when the MP3 player is plugged into it, the MP3 player will no longer charge or sync with your computer.

  • An MP3 player will only work with a charger if the charger remains plugged in and the MP3 cord remains plugged into the USB port on the charger.
