A flash drive is a storage device that, among other things, lets you move files from one computer to another. These small devices are particularly handy for moving photographs from place-to-place.

Step 1

Insert the flash drive into your computer. Slide the rectangular connection into an empty USB slot, often found in the back of your desktop computer tower or the side of a laptop.

Step 2

Create a folder on your desktop. Right-click on your desktop, scroll down and click "New > Folder." Name the folder.

Step 3

Drag and drop your photographs into the folder you created in Step 2.

Step 4

Click the "Start" button in the bottom left corner of your desktop. Scroll up and select "My Computer."

Step 5

Find the flash drive in the drive section of the window. It will likely be listed as a "Removable Drive" or "Removable Disk."

Step 6

Drag the photo folder from your desktop onto the flash drive icon.

Step 7

Right-click the flash drive icon in the bottom right corner of your system tray. Then click "Safely Remove Hardware" and "Stop" before removing the flash drive from the computer.
