How to Remove Pop-Up Ads From a Computer

Remove pop-up ads from your computer.

At times, you may come across a website that displays advertisements that pop up automatically. These advertisements inhibit your Web-surfing experience by getting in the way and bogging down your system resources. There is, however, an easy way to get rid of these pop-up ads using your browser.

Instructions

Internet Explorer 7 and 8

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click "Tools" in the main menu bar.

3. Select "Pop-up Blocker."

4. Hit "Turn On Pop-up Blocker."

5. Restart your Internet Explorer.

Firefox

1. Open your Firefox browser.

2. Click "Firefox" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Preferences."

3. Hit the "Content" tab. Put a check mark next to "Block pop-up windows." Close the window.
