How to Replace the Rotors on a 1994 Honda

A 1994 Honda has four brake rotors located behind all four tires. The rotors are secured to the frame by support bolts and securing nuts in the middle of each rotor. The rotors are heavy metal discs that the brake pads squeeze to stop the Honda while you are driving.

  • Jack
  • Jack stand
  • Ratchet set
  • Replacement rotor

Instructions

      Remove the Honda's lug nuts from the front left wheel using the tire iron. Raise the Honda using a jack and lower the Honda onto a jack stand. Remove the front left wheel from the frame.

      Remove the small securing nut(s) from the brake caliper using the ratchet set. Lift up on the brake caliper to remove it from the rotor and rest it on the axle.

      Remove the securing nuts from the rotor using the ratchet set. Pull the rotor off of the axle.

      Slide the new rotor onto the axle. Replace the securing nuts and tighten them with the ratchet set. Replace the brake caliper onto the rotor and tighten the small securing nut(s). Replace the wheel onto the frame. Remove the jack stand with the help of the jack then lower the Honda to the ground. Tighten the lug nuts using the tire iron.
