How to Care for a Leather Steering Wheel

Leather steering wheels used to be a luxury, but now they're found on all sorts of cars and trucks, from base models to high-end models. Although leather wheels tend to last for a long time, they will show premature wear if not taken care of properly. Weekly and monthly maintenance is recommended to keep your leather wheel in perfect shape for years to come.

Things You'll Need

• Leather wipes
• Foam applicator pad
• Leather lotion
• Microfiber towels

Instructions

1. Wipe down the leather surface of the steering wheel using the leather wipes. Allow the wheel to air dry. This should be done once a week to remove oils transferred from your hands.

2. Apply a quarter-size dollop of the leather lotion onto the center of the application pad. Rub the lotion into the steering wheel using a circular motion.

3. Wipe off any excess lotion from the steering wheel using a microfiber towel. Repeat steps 2 and 3 monthly to maintain the leather.
