Refilling your printer's ink cartridge can save you money.

If you purchase replacement ink cartridges for your HP printer, you know how costly they can be. In fact, the price of replacement ink cartridges can easily meet--or even exceed--the price of the printer itself. It is no wonder, then, that many printer owners choose to refill their own print cartridges to save some money.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the HP60 inkjet cartridge from the printer. Locate the breather hole on the top of the cartridge near the label.

    • 2

Insert a needle into the breather hole to widen it slightly. Remove the syringe from the refill kit and fill it with ink. Be sure to place some paper towels or a cloth on your work area to protect it. Wipe up any spilled ink immediately to prevent staining.

    • 3

Insert the syringe into the widened breather hole and push down until the syringe is against the bottom of the cartridge. Carefully push down the plunger to start filling the cartridge from the bottom up. Continue pushing the plunger until the cartridge is full.

    • 4

Set the refill kit aside and wipe any excess ink from the ink cartridge. Insert the refilled print cartridge in the printer and send a test page to the unit.
