Aqua Luster acrylic pool paint is ideal for pool slides because it requires no primer and is extremely resistant to the corrosive effects of chlorine.

A fresh coat of paint can rejuvenate the look of a weathered pool slide, but any old paint won't do. Choose a coating specifically formulated to resist the corrosive effects of chlorine, or the finish coat will begin to deteriorate quickly. Does this Spark an idea?

Cover the areas beneath the pool slide with drop cloths.

    • 3

Scrape away any loose or peeling paint with the putty knife.

    • 5

Vacuum or sweep up any paint chips.

    • 6

Apply a coat of acrylic pool paint. Apply only a light coat. Do not overapply, which may result in unattractive brush strokes in the final coat.

    • 7

Allow the surface to dry for two hours, and then apply additional coats as necessary.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't use plastic drop cloths in place of heavy-duty fabric ones, because they tend to blow out of place in the wind.
