How to Create Animals from Cotton Balls
Making a set of animals to play with out of household items is very easy. Follow these instructions to make a lamb out of cotton balls. You can easily make a group of animal friends like horses, cows and dogs. Make a group of animals and have your child play a farm animal game with your new creations.
Things You'll Need
- Cardboard tube
- Cotton balls
- Black felt
- 1 medium black pom pom
- 2 black chenille stems
- 2 pieces of scrap paper (8.5 by 11)
- White craft glue
- Scissors
- 2 wiggle eyes
Instructions

Wrap one chenille stem around the cardboard tube. Twist around the bottom so that it is held into place. Repeat with the other chenille stem.

Cover the tube with dots of white glue. Cover with cotton balls.

Wad up two pieces of scrap paper and stick them inside the tube. Leave one sticking out on one end for the head.

Put glue on the end of the tube that is going to be the tail (the end without the paper sticking out). Put cotton balls on the glue.

Cut a square of black felt that is about 4 by 4 inches. Wrap the felt around the scrap paper in the front. Tuck the edges in and glue it in place. This is the head.

Glue more cotton balls around the neck, where they need to be filled in.

Cut out two triangles from the black felt. Glue them on as ears. Glue the two eyes on the face. Glue a black pom pom to the end as a tail.

Cut the legs to a length where the animal can keep balance.

Tips & Warnings
These instructions are for a lamb, but by varying the colors you can make a variety of different animals using the same general instructions.
