How to Clean a Stainless Steel Watch Strap
A stainless steel watch is designed to last for many years without deteriorating in appearance or quality. From time to time the stainless steel will need to be cleaned to remove fingerprints, body oils and other elements that come in contact with the watch. There are a few jewelry cleaning products on the market; however, a simple at-home cleaning routine will clean and polish the stainless steel. Does this Spark an idea?

Dip the edge of a soft cloth in white vinegar. The vinegar will kill any bacteria or odor, plus dissolve and remove body oils, fingerprints and other residue.

Rub the damp cloth over the watch strap, cleaning both the outside, underside and edges of the watch band.

Allow to air dry, then moisten a clean, dry side of the cloth with olive oil.

Rub the olive oil onto the watch strap, buffing just enough to smooth the watch with a light layer of the oil.

Using a dry area of the cloth, buff the watch clean to remove the oil. The oil will restore shine to the stainless steel surface.
