Instructions
-
-
1
Measure the length and width of your mattress using a tape measure.
-
2
Write down the measurements in order to bring them with you to the retailer or place of purchase.
-
-
3
Visit your local mattress store and give a sales associate the dimensions of your mattress, as well as telling him the actual type of mattress you have (king, queen, etc.). He can show you what box springs are available to match your current mattress size.
-
4
Test the different box springs in the store by sitting on them. Check for softness and strength. If you feel it has too much give, try another one. A box spring that has too much spring or is too soft can affect the feel of the mattress.
-
5
Consider price and warranty information before making a purchase. A box spring that has a warranty can be a safe investment. If anything were to go wrong with the box spring while it's under warranty, you can have it replaced or repaired at no additional cost to you.
