You can print a file if you have installed a printer. These instructions should work for most applications.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

To print a document, first open the file in the appropriate software application.

  2. Step 2

Use the keyboard commands Control+P (Windows) or Command+P (Mac). Alternatively, you can use your mouse to open the File menu, then click on Print. If you are using an application such as Notepad, your printing job will start immediately. If you are using a more robust application, you will see a Print dialog box first.

  3. Step 3

If you want to use a different printer than the one listed, choose it from the Printer Name menu.

  4. Step 4

Under Print Range, click on All if you want to print the entire document.

  5. Step 5

If you want to print only one page, or if you want to print a range of pages, click on Pages and enter the page range. If you want to print only page 3, for example, you would enter 3 as both the beginning and end of the range.

  6. Step 6

Enter the number of copies to be printed in the Copy box. Click Collate if you want the copies collated.

  7. Step 7

Click OK or Print when you are ready to print.

Tips & Warnings
  • Printers are not identical. Some printers offer features and enhancements that are not available in other printers.

on 11/22/2005 When printing, I often get a page two with almost nothing on it. To reuse this, put it back on top of the pile, print side up. It will print on the back of the paper.
