How to Fold Paper Into an Easter Basket
Easter is a time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. During that time, children visit the Easter bunny, hunt for eggs and make Easter crafts. One Easter craft children can make is a paper Easter basket. This basket can be filled with a little Easter grass and a few plastic Easter eggs stuffed with candy. Kids can give the basket to a friend, or someone in a nursing home. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Choose a pastel colored sheet of construction paper to make your Easter basket.
-
2
Cut your piece of construction paper into a perfect square. You can eyeball it, or you can use a measuring tape to be more precise.
-
-
3
Fold the top and bottom of your square over one inch. This makes a crease. Then unfold it.
-
4
Fold the left and right side of the square in one inch. Again, you are doing this to make a crease. You can unfold it when you are done.
-
5
Cut one one-inch crease on each of the four sides of the square. This creates four tabs.
-
6
Lift the sides back up, tucking the tabs inside of the basket. Staple the tabs in place. You now have the base of your basket.
-
7
Cut out a strip of construction paper for a handle for your paper Easter basket. The strip should be 1 1/2 inches thick, and about 10 inches long.
-
8
Staple each end of the handle on to the inside of your basket. Your basket is now complete.

Tips & Warnings
Write the name of the person you are giving the basket to across the handle.
Decorate the basket with markers or Easter stickers.
Younger children can use tape instead of a stapler so that they don't hurt themselves.
