How to Make Perfect Holes in Your Jeans
Making "holes" in your jeans is just one method of distressing the dungarees and making them look different. However, rather than simply cutting rips in the cloth which can unravel and damage the entire fabric of your jeans, you need to be very deliberate in how you distress them. The end result of your "holes" should, in fact, be patches of white fabric only, with small cuts in between them.

1
Choose where on your jeans you want to make your holes. If necessary, mark the area with chalk or some sort of soap so that you have a guide. Keep in mind that you will be making a series of small cuts, so make sure that you mark how long you want your holes to be.

2
Make a series of cuts with your scissors. Pinch the jeans so that there is a small, vertical fold and cut it. Then pinch your jeans slightly lower to make another vertical fold and cut again. There should ideally be a few centimeters of material between each cut. The cuts should be as wide as you want, but keep in mind that the wider the cut, the more likely your jeans are to tear.

Pull out the blue yarns from the swatches of isolated denim. Jeans have blue yarns running the length of the material, and white yarns running the width. By pulling out the blue yarns with your tweezers you're creating a patch of white yarns that offers some protection, but which gives the denim a distressed, holey look.
