      Prepare an office where you can meet with clients. Make sure that your office has all the necessary office supplies you need such as a computer, phone, printer, etc. You will also need a comfortable chair for your client to sit in while you discuss business with them.

      Find clients. Call up friends and family and ask if they or their companies need bookkeeping services. Encourage them to spread the word of your new business. Look on Craigslist for bookkeeper wanted listings and contact the ad poster.

      Hire interns. Interns can help you complete your work and allow you to take on additional clients. Advertise your hiring needs in local universities so that your new employees can be paid in college credit and not money. Interview candidates and hire the most suitable ones.
