How to Make a Weather Map With Google

You can use Google Maps to construct your own weather map.

Google has revolutionized navigation with its easily accessible online maps. However, Google does not readily provide a weather overlay for its maps. To make a weather map using Google Maps (or Yahoo or Bing maps), you can go to UMapper.com

Things You'll Need

• UMapper account (free)

Instructions

1. Log in to UMapper.com. Click the "Start Mapping!" button.

2. Enter a map title and description in the boxes provided. Select the Google format (or another format) from the example boxes below.

3. Click on the "Templates" tab. Select the "Weather" template and click "Submit."

4. Zoom in to the desired location (weather information will not be visible yet). Click the big blue "Save Map" button.

5. Click "View Map." You will see an interactive map that shows temperatures, cloud cover and other weather information.
