How to Remove a Factory-Installed Radio From a Honda 2002 Odyssey
If you want to remove the stereo from your Honda 2002 Odyssey, it's recommended to take it to a Honda dealer and let a professional remove it, but you can do it yourself. Be sure to choose a new stereo that is compatible with the dashboard and wiring configuration of your Odyssey.

1
Lift up your Honda's hood. Use a wrench to disconnect the negative battery cable from the negative battery lead, and take off the cable.

2
Lift off the trim from around the radio. Carefully pry loose the bottom edge of the trim from the dashboard, using a flat screwdriver. Wrap your fingers around the trim by reaching into the sunken area that surrounds it, and pull the trim toward you and out of the dashboard.

3
Disconnect any wiring that is attached to the back panel of the trim panel.
-
4
Locate six screws that connect the radio to the dashboard, and remove them with a screwdriver. Wrap your hands around the radio and pull it toward you and off the bracket where it is mounted.

5
Disconnect all wiring that is attached to the back panel of the radio. Locate three sets of wires: for the power supply, speakers and antenna. Remove the antenna cable and the power cord with your hand. To remove the speaker wires, use the plastic wire harness to grasp them and pull them off the back panel of the radio.

Install your new stereo according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep the factory-installed radio or give it to someone else.
