Open the Dell Financial Services website in your Web browser (see Resources.) Information about financing a Dell computer is available on the “Finance Options” tab.

Click the “Apply Online Now” button on the Dell Financial Services page. The page transfers you to an online credit application.

Enter the required information into the Dell credit application. Required information on the Dell application is similar to what you find on standard applications everywhere, such as name and contact information, Social Security number and employment status.

Continue through the Dell credit application to verify your information and send the information through for processing. The Dell system provides a decision on your credit application within 60 seconds.

Open your bank’s website, or the website of another bank you would like to apply for the loan with, in your Web browser. Many banks, including Wells Fargo, CitiFinancial and Capital One, offer online systems for applying for personal loans.

Choose the “Personal Loan” option from the main page of the bank’s website. Click the “Apply Online” or “Apply Now” button to begin your personal loan application.

Fill in the required information in the personal loan application. Like with Dell, your name, contact information and employment status are required with most banks. Banks often require more information, such as the amount of available money in your checking account, the amount of your house payment or rent and other financial details, than retailers like Dell.

Wait for the decision from the bank. Some banks may tell you whether or not you qualify as soon as you have completed the application. Some banks, however, may send something through the mail or call you for additional information. When the loan has been approved, you must wait to receive your money either through a direct deposit into your bank account or in the form of a check sent through the mail.
