1
Remove the cabinet door from the cabinet face by unscrewing the hinges. Place the door on flat surface.
-
2
Purchase an unfinished wooden photo frame in the desired size from any craft store. These frames are usually inexpensive and made from pine. Most of these frames do not have glass installed, but some do. Either type of frame will work. The frame should fit in the center of the cabinet door with equal space around all edges.

3
Have a piece of glass cut to fit within the frame if necessary. Glass can be cut at most craft stores that have framing departments for little money.
-
4
Apply wood stain or paint to the unfinished frame. Make sure the wood stain or paint is the same color as the original cabinet. This will make the finished look more convincing. Apply stain with a paintbrush, let sit for a couple of minutes, then wipe with a cheesecloth. Let dry.
-
5
Lay the fabric out face-down. Using a ruler, measure the fabric so that it is the same size as the inside of frame. For example, if the frame is 8x10 inches, cut the fabric to that size. Use a marker to mark the measurements, then cut the fabric using scissors.
-
6
Insert the fabric into the frame as you would a normal photograph. Because fabric is flimsy, this may take a few attempts. Apply the backing to the frame and move the tabs to hold the backing in place.
-
7
Place the frame on the surface of the cabinet so that it is centered. Hold the frame in place with one hand, then attach the frame to the cabinet with a nail gun. Make sure to use nails that are short enough so they will not penetrate the backside of the cabinet door.
-
8
Fill in the nail holes on the frame with wood filler. For stained wood, choose a wood filler color the same as the stain. For paint, any shade of wood filler can be used. Let the wood filler dry, then sand it flat, being careful not to damage the stain or paint job. Paint over the flat wood filler and let dry.
