How to Install Microsoft Word 2000
Word 2000 is a word processing application made by Microsoft. The application, which lets you create documents, reports and presentations, typically comes as part of the Office suite. If you obtain Word on a CD, you can easily install it on your computer in about 10 minutes.

Put the installation CD in your CD-ROM drive. The setup software should begin automatically. If not, click your "Start" button, scroll up and click "Run." Click the "Browse" button. Browse to "<Your CD Drive>:\Win32\install\WORDPRO\OFFICE2K.EXE" and click the "Open" button.

Wait until the download and installation process begins. You will be prompted to click "Next" a couple of times as dialog boxes appear.

Enter your name, initials, organization and the CD key, a 25-character code found by looking at the disc, in the fields that are provided. Click "Next," and read the End-User License Agreement. Click "Yes" to agree to it. Click the "Next" button.

Hit the "Custom" option in the next window that appears. You will see the default directory of "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office." Click the "Next" button.

Select Microsoft Word 2000, and make sure it is the only selected component in the next window.

Choose "Install the Selected Item to the hard drive" and click the "Next" button. After the software is finished installing on your computer, restart your machine.
