How to Play Split Screen Online on COD 5

Call of Duty: World at War is the fifth game in the Call of Duty franchise, released after Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Foregoing the modern setting of the previous game, World at War is set during World War II in the Pacific campaign as you fight the Japanese empire in jungle warfare. Online gaming is popular in the Call of Duty franchise, and with this edition you have the ability to take a friend online in split screen.

      Power on your video game console and load up Call of Duty: World at War.

      Select the game's online component from the main menu. If you are using an Xbox 360, this will be “Xbox Live.” If you are using a PlayStation 3, this will be through the “PlayStation Network.”

      Select “Split Screen” from the online menu.

      Add additional players to play split screen. If you are on an Xbox 360, at least one player will have to have a gold Xbox Live account in order to play online. Other players will log on as a guest to the Xbox Live player. Likewise, one player must be register for the PlayStation Network if you are gaming on a PlayStation 3.

      Select “Continue” to progress to the settings screen. From here, you can tweak the in-game settings, such as maps, game mode and whether the game will be public or private. Once you have adjusted the settings, you can start the game and play split screen online.
