How to Stop Computer Hackers

Computer hackers are individuals who want to access your computer without your knowledge or authorization for illegal purposes. While there is no fail-safe method for keeping computer hackers totally at bay, you can prevent yourself from being an easy target by following some basic computing rules. This will allow you to keep your computer safe from viruses and other malignant threats on the Internet.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" and open "All Programs."

2. Click on "Windows Update."

3. Follow the onscreen instructions to download all required updates for your OS, securing your computer against hackers.

4. Click "Start" and open the "Control Panel."

5. Click on "Security Center" and click on "Windows Firewall."

6. Select "Properties" and click "Enable." This will prevent your computer against unauthorized access from the Internet.
