Instructions

    • 1

Verify that you have a NIC (Network Interface Card) installed on your computer. The NIC is also referred to as an "Ethernet" card. To verify whether or not a card is installed, check your computer's "Device Manager." The "Device Manager can generally be accessed via your computer's "Control Panel." If a NIC is installed it will be listed under the "Adapters" section in Device Manager.

    • 2

Ensure that your DSL "Service Ready Date" has arrived. This date is generally given to you when you first order the service to let you know when your service will be activated. If you don't know your service ready date, you can contact NetZero Customer Support.

    • 3

Install the NetZero "Connection Center" software onto your computer. To do this, simply insert the software CD that came with your DSL installation kit into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. The Connection Center will automatically launch.

    • 4

Take the telephone jack filter from your installation kit and insert it into the wall jack that the DSL will be connected to. The telephone jack filter has two ports. One port is labeled "Phone" and the second port is labeled "DSL."

    • 5

Place one end your telephone line into the phone port that is on the back of the DSL modem. Place the other end of the telephone line into port of the telephone jack filter that is labeled "DSL."

    • 6

Use the yellow "Cat5" cable that came with your installation kit to connect your DSL modem to your computer. To do this, connect one end of the Cat5 cable to the "Ethernet" port on your computer. Connect the other end of the Cat5 cable to the "Ethernet" port on that is on the back of the DSL modem.

    • 7

Plug the power cord into the DSL modem. Connect the pronged end of the power cord into the nearest electrical outlet.

    • 8

Power on your DSL modem. Wait for your "Power" and "Ethernet" lights to gain sync.

    • 9

Open your Internet browser to begin browsing the web. Once your Internet connection is established, your "Internet" light on the DSL modem will also turn green.
