Make My Own Ringtones Text

Virtually all cell phones allow you to add your own ringtones. A variety of methods exist to do this; some are dependent upon both your cell phone and your cell phone carrier. One popular method is to make and add your own ringtones, which you can personalize. Add ringtones to virtually any cell phone (regardless of carrier) by texting your ringtones to your cell phone via an email account.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign in to your email account. Compose a new email address and type your 10-digit cell phone number into the recipient field followed by your cell phone service provider's text messaging extension (e.g. xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com).

    • 2

Add your ringtones to your email message as attachments. Send the email, which will be delivered to your cell phone as a text message.

    • 3

Open your cell phone. Cick "View" to see the text message. Click the right soft key for "Options" and select "Save as Ringtone" to save the ringtone to your cell phone.

Tips & Warnings

  • When entering information, you should not put hyphens or spaces between the digits of your cell phone number.

  • Text messaging fees may be charged to your cell phone account, depending on your service provider's rates and your calling plan.
