How to Get Past a Phoenix Password on a Sony Vaio Laptop
To prevent unauthorized users from accessing the files on your Sony VAIO, you can set a password in the Phoenix BIOS. Once a password has been set, the BIOS will not allow the computer to boot to the operating system unless a user inputs the correct password when prompted. While this function can help to protect your system, it can be extremely inconvenient if you forget your password, or if someone sets a password on your VAIO without your permission.
To bypass a password set in the Phoenix BIOS, you must reset the CMOS (the part of the computer that stores the BIOS settings and other system parameters). The simplest way to reset the CMOS is to remove the battery from the laptop.
