How to Cut Out in Photoshop
If you are a novice graphic designer or new to the Photoshop software package, you may need some guidance cutting out objects in Photoshop. Photoshop is a powerful tool that allows you to manipulate images. This software program has one major tool, the crop tool, that allows you to cut out objects from an original image.

Launch Photoshop and open an image file you want to manipulate. Click "File" and then "Open" to open an image file.

Click the "Crop" tool from the toolbar on the left-hand side of the program. Hover over each icon to reveal the name of the icon so that you can select the correct tool.

Select an area of the image that you want to retain. The rest of the image is cropped out or eliminated from the image. For example, if you have a picture of two people and you want to cut out the person on the left, use the crop to select the person on the right. After you have selected the area you want to retain, a box appears highlighting your selection.

Double-click inside of the box and the remainder of the image outside of the box is cut out.

Save your new image that you have cropped. Click "File" and then "Save as." Rename the image if you don't want to overwrite the original image.

Tips & Warnings
Once you've selected the part of the image you want to retain using the crop tool, you can resize or move the box to make your cropped selection more precise before you complete the cropping action. If you are satisfied with the selection you've made, you don't need to resize or move the box.
