Wireless Router

Verizon offers broadband Internet in two versions: DSL and FIOS. DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) carries data over telephone lines that is converted using a DSL modem. FIOS is Verizon's branded fiber optic data line. With FIOS, Verizon provides a modem that is integrated with a wireless router, thus, a separate router is not needed in most cases (some network adapters are not compatible with Verizon FIOS wireless routers). For DSL, Verizon gives the option of an integrated modem with wireless router, but this is not standard, so connecting a separate router may be necessary.
