How to Put Ringtones on a Treo 755P
The Treo 755p is a smart phone manufactured by Palm that allows you access to the Internet, e-mail, video, pictures and music. This smart phone is a one-stop business tool that provides workers with everything they need to do business right in the palm of their hands. If you wish to personalize your phone with a different ringtone, you can choose to make one out of your favorite song.
Things You'll Need
- Expansion card
- USB connector cable for the Treo
- MP3 of ringtone song
- Computer with Windows Media Player

Place the expansion card in the expansion card slot on the phone. The computer will save the file for the ringtone to the expansion card.

Attach the USB end of the cable into a USB port on your computer. Attach the other end to the Treo smart phone.

Press the Applications button--shown as a house icon--on the phone, and select "pTunes." Open Windows Media Player.

Select the "Sync" tab on the Windows Media Player screen. This will bring up a music sync list. Drag and drop the MP3 of the song you wish to have as your ringtone into the "Sync" list. Click Sync in Windows Media Player to move the song from the computer to the smart phone.

Open up the web browser on the phone by pressing the Applications button and selecting "Web." Type "file:///audio/xxx.mp3" in the address bar. ("XXX" is the actual name of your file.) Select the "GO" command.

At the next prompt, select "Copy to Ringtone." Click on "Save," then "Open." The MP3 is now placed in the "Ringtones" file and can be set as a ringtone.

Tips & Warnings
When syncing the file to the phone, don't press the sync button on the connector cord. Windows Media Player takes care of all syncing for you.
The expansion card has more memory than the main Treo memory, but the ringtone has to be placed there to work. Make sure you don't run out of memory on your phone by adding ringtones.
