How to Illuminate a Baby Shower Cake
A baby cake can become the pinnacle decoration of the party with some carefully chosen lighting. Designate an area or separate table for the cake to be displayed. This will help highlight the illuminating decorations as well as ensure the lighting and the cake are not disrupted, especially when using candles. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Light-up toy or decoration
- Mini-flashlights (Optional)
- Frosted glass box with cover
- Ribbon
- Christmas lights
- Tea lights
- Candle holders

Purchase or find a frosted glass box with a lid.

Place a light-up toy or Christmas decoration that is battery operated inside the box. A mini flashlight or two will work as well. Close the box once the object or toy is turned on.

Tie the box with a ribbon. Use a blue ribbon for a boy, pink for a girl or purple, yellow or green if the sex is unknown. Place the cake on top of the box.

Wrap Christmas lights around the edge or outline of the display table.

Scatter tea light candles around the base of the cake, ideally placed in blue or pink candle holders.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure the toy or decoration has new batteries when it is turned on and placed inside the box to ensure it lasts the length of the party.
