How to Convert Music to WAV
Converting your music files into WAV format allows you to transfer songs onto an audio CD or import them into audio editing programs such as Audacity or ProTools. You can convert music files into WAV files from any other digital format such as WMA, MP3, M4A, AAC or FLAC. Converting music files into WAV format requires the use of an audio conversion program, many of which can be downloaded free of charge.
Instructions
-
-
1
Upload all the music files you wish to convert to your computer. Store all such files in a single folder to make them easy to access.
-
2
Download and install an audio conversion program from a Shareware site such as CNet.com or mp3towav.com. Popular free conversion programs include FreeRIP and Easy CD-DA Extractor.
-
-
3
Launch your audio conversion program.
-
4
Add the files you want to convert into the conversion program's menu by opening the folder containing the files, holding down the "Ctrl" key while clicking the name of each file and clicking "Add" on the menu in your conversion program. You can also drag-and-drop the files you want to convert from the source folder into the conversion program's menu.
-
5
Select "WAV" from the drop-down menu in the conversion program labeled "New File Type" or "Convert To."
-
6
Choose the conversion rate from the appropriate drop-down menu. A higher conversion rate results in better sound quality but also creates a larger WAV file that uses more space on your hard drive.
-
7
Select a destination folder for your new WAV files and click "Convert."
