No, not this kind of warthog.

Halo 3 is a first-person shooter released by Bungie for the Xbox 360 in 2007. Soon after the game's release, rumor of a golden Warthog began to emerge in Internet forums. Pictures and video were found on the Web, but finding the fabled vehicle itself is another matter. Obtaining the elusive Warthog requires basic knowledge of the Forge, the map editor released with the game.

Instructions

  1. Instructions

    • 1

Open the map "Sandtrap" with the Forge map editor. Take note of the several spires along the edge of the map.

    • 2

Create a glitch spawned vehicle, meaning it doesn't have a turret. Have your fellow player get in the vehicle.

    • 3

Hold the vehicle as close as you can to the edge of the map near one of the spires. Bombs from the spire will hit the Warthog but will fail to damage your partner. This will cause an orange laser to shoot from the top of a spire and kill your partner.

    • 4

Do the same across from each of the spires along the edge of the map. This will drop the golden Warthog near the large circle adjacent to the final spire.

    • 5

Save the map and load it again to obtain access to your new ride.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you're having trouble getting the spires to fire at you, move the turretless vehicle back and forth along the edge of the map. Eventually you will find the sweet spot and receive fire.
