  • Paving stones
  • Pool hose
  • Pool hose clamps
  • Flat-head screwdriver

      Unplug the cord or turn the circuit breaker off to disconnect the power to the pool pump. This will prevent electric shock while the filter is connected.

      Create a level area for the filter between the pool pump and the pool return jet valve, using paving stones and a leveling tool. The filter should be 2 to 3 feet away from the pump to ensure maximum efficiency.

      Attach a piece of pool hose to the pool pump's outlet valve to the pool filter's inlet valve. The valves should be labeled. Secure each end of the hose with hose clamps and use a flat-head screwdriver to tighten each hose clamp, preventing leaks.

      Attach another piece of pool hose to the pool filter's outlet valve and connect the other end to the pool return jet valve. The return jet valve is on the sidewall of the pool. Use two more hose clamps to secure both ends of the hose. Tighten the hose clamps with the flat-head screwdriver.

      Restore power to the pool pump.
