How Can I Network a Mac & a PC in the Same House?
A computer network is two or more computers connected together either with an Ethernet or Firewire cord or with a wireless router. Modern Mac and Windows computers can be networked together seamlessly. With a Mac and Windows computer network, you can share files and printers between both computers, but you cannot share applications. It is easy to network a Windows-based computer and Mac together in the same location with a wireless router.

Open "System Preferences" in the Mac's Apple menu.

Click on "Sharing."

Check the "Windows Sharing" box and click on "Accounts."

Select the accounts you would like to network with the Windows-based computer and input their account passwords. Press "OK."

Click on "Network" in the Finder's "Go" menu and select the Windows-based computer from the list of networks. Click "Connect."

Click on "Start" and select "Network."

Select the Apple computer from the list of networks. The name will have "Apple" in it.

Double click on the Apple computer and input the name and password of the Mac account you want to access.

Both the Mac and Windows-based computer must be connected to the wireless router to network wirelessly.
