Get your HDTV on.

If you're a current cable customer and you bring home a new HDTV it could take days or even weeks to get the cable guy out to hook up an HD converter box to get that HD picture you've been waiting for. However if you can pick up the box on your own, you can hook it up in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off both your television and cable box.

    • 2

Locate the HDMI output on your cable box. This will be a long, flat and rectangular connection, and is usually labeled HDMI.

    • 3

Locate the HDMI input on the back of your television.

    • 4

Insert one end of the HDMI cord (it doesn't matter which) into the back of your cable box, and the other into the back of your television.

    • 5

Set your television to receive a signal from the cable box. Look for a button on your TV remote control labeled "TV/Video", "Source" or "Input", and push the button or use the up and down arrows until you reach your HDMI signal. For more information, check your TV manual.
