Instructions

    • 1

Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands, and then combine the ammonia and hydrogen peroxide in a small mixing bowl. Be very careful not to splash on your skin, as ammonia can cause irritation at full strength.

    • 2

Add soap flakes to the bowl until a thick, paste-like, creamy consistency is reached. Once thoroughly combined, you're left with your homemade body hair bleach. Don't worry about the ammonia, as its diluted so much that it won't cause harm, as long as you don't leave it on too long.

    • 3

To use, spread the body hair bleach over the hair and allow it to sit for no longer than 15 minutes, and then rinse away with warm water. Repeat the treatment every few days until the hair no longer has color, which may take several treatments. Repeat monthly to keep the hair colorless.

Tips & Warnings

  • Soap flakes can be purchased online or in some well-stocked drug stores and supermarkets.

  • Do not use the cream body hair bleach on your eyelashes or eyebrows. If the mixture gets into the eyes, it can cause significant irritation, pain and damage to the eyes.

  • If you're worried about putting ammonia on your skin, perform a test prior to using the mixture. Place a tiny amount of the body hair bleach on the inside of your arm, wait 15 minutes, and then wash away. If no irritation is felt within 30 minutes, you will likely not experience any reaction when bleaching your hair.

  • Do not store the body hair bleach. Discard any unused portion after every bleaching session.
