How to Create a Master Partition Boot Utility

The master partition file on your hard drive is the file that contains the drive layout information for your drive. You can create a master partition boot utility by creating a boot disk that contains the necessary utilities to repair and diagnose the master partition. You do this by creating a DOS boot disk, which contains the Chkdsk feature. The Chkdsk feature contained on the boot CD enables you to work on your master partition file. This allows you to repair your master partition from a boot CD in the event that you are unable to boot into your operating system.
