Install a MicroSD card into your BlackBerry to store more pictures and music.

MicroSD media cards provide extra storage for cell phones, and can be used to hold music, videos, pictures and documents. Most BlackBerrys can accommodate the 2GB, 4GB and 8GB MicroSD card sizes.

Instructions

  1. External Installation

    • 1

Hold the phone with the screen facing you.

    • 2

Locate the SD card cover on one of the sides of the phone. The cover has a picture of a card over it.

    • 3

Lift the cover up to reveal the SD slot. The cover does not completely detach, so be gentle and move the detached part of the cover to the side.

    • 4

Push the microSD card into the open slot until you hear it click. Put it in with the writing facing up, and the gold pins going in first.

    • 5

Replace the cover back over the slot.

    • 6

Allow your phone a moment to format the card.

    Internal Installation

    • 7

Flip the phone so the back cover is facing you.

    • 8

Press and hold in the small metal button at the bottom of the cover.

    • 9

Slide the cover up and off the phone while holding the button in.

    • 10

Remove the battery by lifting the top half out first, and then the bottom. You will see a small metal cover within the phone after removing the battery.

    • 11

Slide the metal cover to the left to unlock and open it.

    • 12

Slide the microSD card into the open metal cover; do not lay it flat in the phone. You will see that it is locked into place. Insert it with the gold pins down and the writing facing out on the card.

    • 13

Push the open cover down, back onto the phone.

    • 14

Slide the cover to the right to lock it in place.
