How to Repair a Fuel Line on a Weed Eater Trimmer
The plastic fuel line used in Weed Eater trimmers will last for about four years before it will need to be replaced. This is because the plastic will not remain pliable any longer than that. Or else the plastic will degrade from exposure to gasoline, heat and ultraviolet light. The plastic tubing may also develop small cracks that will begin to leak gasoline. Plan to replace the fuel line on your Weed Eater trimmer once every four years at the beginning of the trimming season. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Drain the fuel out of the fuel tank on the Weed Eater trimmer. The fuel will likely still be usable so you can save it. Add fuel stabilizer to the main reserve fuel tank to help the fuel stay fresh longer.
-
2
Pull the fuel tank end of the fuel line off of the fuel tank. Pull the carburetor end of the fuel line off of the carburetor. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to make removing the line easier.

3
Cut a piece of new fuel line to the same length as the old piece of fuel line. Discard the old fuel line.
-
4
Pinch one end of the new fuel line between a pair of needle nose pliers and slide the new line into place on the carburetor. Slide the other end of the fuel line into place on the fuel tank in the same manner.
-
5
Refill the fuel tank and check the new fuel line for leaks. If there are none, start the Weed Eater trimmer and run it for a few minutes to see if any leaks develop. Apply small hose clamps to the leaking end of the fuel line to stop the leak.
