Place a folded bath towel on the ground next to the open dishwasher door. Kneel on the towel and stick your head in the open dishwasher. Look downward at the crease where the door folds up. You will see a plastic seal that keeps the dishwasher watertight. You will likely find a lot of residue gathered along the seal (usually black rubber) where the door hinges on the inside. Scrape the residue off with a plastic spatula and scoop into a plastic grocery bag. Spray the area with a bleach-based spray cleaner.
