How to Customize the Grille on a Big Rig With Decals
Big-rig grilles come in various shapes and patterns, but from a distance they all look similar, with their shiny chrome perforated surfaces. Distinguish your vehicle from the rest by customizing your grille by applying durable decorative stickers on its surface. Given the location of the grille, the decals will be highly visible and will make your semi-trailer truck stand out.
Things You'll Need
- White cloth
- Water
- Soap
- Vinyl decals
- Flexible piece of plastic (a card or a spatula)
Instructions

1
Clean the surface of the grille using a damp white cloth. Be very thorough and clean in and around all perforations. Use a solution of 10 parts water to two parts soap.
-
2
Remove the decal from its backing--it's the white piece of paper that the clear transfer tape sticks to. Use vinyl decals that are specifically made for cars and trucks.

3
Place the decal carefully on the surface of the grille. Start from one end of the sticker and slowly stroke the decal with your hand to the other end to ensure a smooth, flat fit.
-
4
Rub the decal with a spatula or a plastic card starting from the middle and going to the sides to push out possible air bubbles and straighten wrinkles.
-
5
Peel off the transfer tape after waiting for 10 minutes. Be very careful not to rip the sticker.
