You don't have to keep the default background and text-color settings that you see on Web pages. You can change them to something more pleasing to your eyes. These instructions will change the colors for all browsers you use in Windows.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Modems
  • Internet Access
  • Web Browsers

Step1
Click Start on your desktop.
Step2
Go to Settings and click Control Panel.
Step3
Double-click Internet Options.
Step4
Make sure the General tab is selected.
Step5
Click Colors.
Step6
Deselect the Use Windows Colors checkbox.
Step7
Click the Text button to bring up a color chart.
Step8
Choose the color you want and click OK.
Step9
Click the box next to Background and use the same procedure to change that color.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some Web pages use these default colors, but others use colors set specifically by the page designer. If a specific color has been set by the designer, the page will use that color, not the one you selected.
  • On a Macintosh, open a browser program and look for menus or commands such as Preferences, Internet Options or Settings.
