Event noticiations are enabled by default on Dell computers.

On a Dell computer running the Windows operating system, certain event notifications are turned on by default and will appear in the system tray in the lower-right corner of the desktop. For example, you may see virus alerts or software update alerts periodically. If you no longer want to receive these event notifications, you can get rid of them by adjusting the system tray properties.

      Close any open windows or programs.

      Right-click anywhere in the taskbar at the very bottom of your desktop and choose "Properties" from the contextual menu that appears.

      Go to the "Taskbar" tab at the top of the properties window.

      Click on the "Customize" button at the bottom of the window. A new window will open with a list of all the programs or items that include event notifications.

      Highlight an item from the list and use the "Behavior" drop-down menu to select the "Always Hide" option.

      Repeat the "Always Hide" option for each additional program in the "Current Items" list you want to stop sending event notifications.

      Hit the "OK" button to save the settings and get rid of all system tray event notifications.
